Belarus Food News reported on the 7th that the official of Belarus recently passed specific requirements on hygienic epidemiology to be followed by the food processing industry. The document was formulated on the basis of the general hygienic and epidemiological requirements already implemented.
This hygienic epidemiology requirements clarifies the requirements of the main processors of meat, fish, dairy products, oil products, ice cream, tea products, wine, beer, non-alcoholic products, sugar products, pasta and processed mushrooms, and establishes separate rules for infant food producers.
All stages of food production must meet the requirements of technical regulations. During the manufacture of food (except cheese and cheese products, marine fish products and seafood products), only iodized salt is allowed (if salt is needed). Hand-packed (packaged and stacked) food must use disposable gloves. Ice in contact with food during production must be made from drinking water.
The document will take effect in three months after its official issuance.
