Core Tip: The weather is warming up as seasonal fruits enter the market.
The weather is warming up as seasonal fruits enter the market. The wholesale market is crowded with traders. The sales volume of fruit declined in the Beijing Xinfadi Agricultural Wholesale Market after the Spring Festival [February 5th, 2019] but prices remained stable and relatively high.

The price of Chinese cherries is on the rise. The domestic cherry became a dominant force in the fruit market. 99% of the Chinese cherries currently on the market comes from Dalian.

"The wholesale price is around 100 yuan [14.88 USD] per 0.5 kg," explained Liu Wenpo, chairman of the board of Beijing Xinfadi Runfu Orchard Trading Co., Ltd. The domestic cherry production volume more than doubled in comparison with the same period last year. The price also increased by 20%. The limited production volume last year was due to cold weather during the season when cherry trees bloom. The production volume decreased by more than 50%. 2019 promises to be an abundant year for the cherry industry.

In addition to cherries, other fruits that sell well in the domestic fruit market include nectarines, pineapples, and watermelons. Red globe grapes and nectarines also sell well in the imported fruit market. The white nectarine from Chile is in such great demand that supply is insufficient. The nectarines from Australia are doing great as well.
