Ukraine's news agency quoted President Boroshenko's message at a meeting with Ukrainian biology and food university’s teachers and students on March 25 that Ukraine became one of the world's top 10 dairy exporters in 2018.
President Boroshenko said that Ukraine had never achieved such a good result last year when we entered the top 10 exporters of dairy products in the world. Last year, we achieved such a result under the circumstances of war and limited investment.
He says Ukraine also needs to raise its quality standards to the level of the European Union and change the market positioning of the former Soviet Union countries and Russia. Existing state subsidies have failed. Thanks to Prime Minister Groisman's support, we are working with the Government on new ways to solve this problem.
Existing problems in animal husbandry include low turnover, seasonal factors, risk of infectious diseases, problems in grazing areas and high operating costs.
