Purely Elizabeth Granola is being recalled for possible foreign material contamination, which can pose a choking hazard. Three types of granola Rea recalled; the foreign material has not been identified but the recall notice states “potential metal or chemical contaminant.” Cashews provided by their supplier during a time this spring may contain foreign objects. The recall notice did not state whether or not any adverse reactions have been reported.
The recalled products are all Purely Elizabeth brand. They include Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola, Banana Nut Butter Grain-Free Granola, and Pumpkin Spice + Ashwagandha Grain-Free Superfood Granola. The Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola is sold at Costco in 16 ounce pouches, with best by dates of 11/30/19, 12/3/19, 12/5/19, and 12/4/19. The Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola sold in 8 ounce packages has the best by date of 10/19/19. The Banana Nut Butter Grain-Fee Granola is sold in 8 ounce pouches with best buy dates of 10/17/19 and 12/12/19. Finally, the Pumpkin Spice + Ashwagandha Grain Free Superfood Granola, also sold in 8 ounce pouches, has the best by date of 12/7/19.
The company has replaced their cashew supplier with a new one. Any products that are not listed with best by dates that don’t match those in this list, and all other Purely Elizabeth products are not affected by this recall.
