The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that food company General Mills has issued a nationwide recall of two production runs of its branded “CASCADIAN FARM ORGANIC CINNAMON RAISIN GRANOLA” from store shelves and customer warehouses. This cereal product may contain almonds, a nut allergen that was not mentioned on the cereal box label.

The cereal boxes affected by the recall are stamped with the plant code “JK” and “BETTER IF USED BY” dates of either “20MAR2018JK” or “21MAR2018JK.” Individuals who are allergic to almonds may become ill if they eat this cinnamon raisin granola cereal. They should either throw the cereal away or return the box to its place of purchase for a replacement or complete refund.
