A truck lost its load of watermelons in front of Cradlestone Mall -in Krugersdorp- yesterday afternoon. This led to a rare, but delicious sight. According to reports, the truck lost its load at the mall traffic light on Hendrik Potgieter Road just past 5pm.
Several drivers stopped to not only fill their arms but even their vehicles with the ‘free’ fruit. A Facebook post explained that residents from a nearby informal settlement quickly made their way over to collect some watermelons. The eyewitness also said there was traffic mayhem and at one point it came to a complete standstill.
