Global food processing equipment manufacturer Duravant has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Woodside Electronics Corporation (WECO).
Neither company has divulged any financial details.
WECO has its headquarters in Woodland, California, US. It has been developing optical sorting technology for fruits and nuts for more than three decades.
The company offers its technology to domestic and overseas customers. It aids them in eliminating manual hand-labour while optimising output. Its portfolio includes optical colours, defect sorting systems and moisture monitoring systems.
WECO president Don Douglas said: “WECO is truly excited to join Duravant, and we look forward to collaborating with the portfolio of Duravant companies.
“Duravant and WECO are clearly aligned with a shared culture and Duravant’s global footprint will assist us in accelerating growth while continuing to provide world-class innovation and support to our customers.”
Duravant expects this acquisition to expand its presence across the automated food processing and inspection sectors.
Based in Downers Grove, Illinois, it offers automation and engineered equipment. It serves the food processing, packaging and material handling sectors.
Duravant president and CEO Mike Kachmer said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Don Douglas and the entire WECO team to Duravant.
“WECO’s culture of customer-centric innovation and commitment to rapid and effective new product development makes them a wonderful addition to the Duravant family.
