Core Tip: India-based Keventer Agro has set up a R&D laboratory in the eastern city of Kolkata with an investment of INR35m ($6.23m), following an approval from the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
Keventer Group corporate communications head Jayant Sircar told FnBnews.com that the R&D laboratory would operate under the name of Edward Food Research and Analysis Centre (EFRAC) and meets international standards.

The facility includes analyzers, biochemistry analyzers and automated Kjeldahl and Soxhlet extraction systems, which are all connected through centralized data monitoring and 21 CFR part 11 complaint software (LIMS).

The laboratory has been set up to offer analytical and R&D services including quality management, risk and safety assessments, commodity testing and inspections, auditing and certification of products.

"We cater the R&D and analytical needs of sectors like food processing units, beverage and juice manufacturing units, packaged drinking water, milk and milk products, spices, canned and frozen food, poultry, meat, fruit and vegetables and so on and so forth," Sircar told the news website.
