It will also accelerate the process of introducing new products to the market.
Tate & Lyle Speciality Food Ingredients president Olivier Rigaud said the new center exhibits the company's commitment to develop distinctive, high-quality speciality food ingredients and solutions for its customers globally.
"The Centre's state-of-the-art facilities together with our highly skilled and experienced teams of scientists, marketers and product managers, provide a unique combination to help meet our customer's functional, formulation and nutritional needs, and to accelerate the process of bringing new products to market," Rigaud added.
The new center features food science research and processing laboratories; applications and technical services laboratories; a culinary demonstration kitchen; a complete suite of consumer insight and sensory testing facilities; pilot plant and prototype manufacturing facilities, and global communications capabilities.
According to Tate & Lyle, the new center will be the base for Tate & Lyle's global network of research, food application and technical support laboratories.
It will also act as the global headquarters of the company's Innovation and Commercial Development unit and as the North American headquarters of its Speciality Food Ingredients division.
Tate & Lyle Innovation and Commercial Development president Karl Kramer said the new center will help the company work more closely with customers and provide solutions to help them stay competitive in the global marketplace.
Tate & Lyle, which offers ingredients and solutions to the food, beverage and other industries, has two global business units, Speciality Food Ingredients and Bulk Ingredients, which are supported by Innovation and Commercial Development.
