Core Tip: Piab, a Sweden-based manufacturer of vacuum line accessories, has developed piFLOWf for food manufacturers.
The company claimed that all parts that are in contact with the conveyed material are FDA compliant and it is a cost efficient alternative not just with regard to capacity but also when compared to mechanical conveying methods. The full opening gives an immediate discharge, also with increased material throughput.

Apart from its full opening design, vacuum is produced in an energy efficient way, primarily by making use of COAX cartridges, which are efficient and reliable compared to conventional ejectors. The COAX cartridges enable to design a flexible, modular and efficient vacuum system, the company said.

The company also said that the vacuum system based on COAX technology can offer three times more vacuum flow compared to conventional systems, while simultaenously reducing energy consumption.

Piab material handling division vice president Josef Ramslöv said that the new piFLOWf design enables manufacturers to double the conveying capacity for materials, compared to traditional conveyors.

"That it is also a food grade product makes it interesting in a big global market," Ramslöv said.

Piab develops innovative vacuum solutions that improve the energy-efficiency, productivity, and working environments of vacuum users. It has distributors in more than 50 countries globally.
