Frozen red meat supplies were 1,158,416,000 lbs., down 4 percent from April but up 14 percent from May 2011.
Frozen pork stocks totaled 636,084,000 lbs., down 4 percent from April but up 16 percent from May 2011. Frozen pork belly stocks were 65,303,000 lbs., down 13 percent from April but up 14 percent from May 2011. Beef stocks in freezers totaled 498,607,000 lbs., down 4 percent from April but up 11 percent from a year earlier.
Total frozen egg stocks on May 31 were 34,453,000 lbs., up 6 percent from April and up 19 percent from May 2011. Stocks of egg whites were 3,098,000 lbs., down 9 percent from April but up 35 percent from May 2011. Frozen egg yolk stocks were 2,466,000 lbs., down 8 percent from April but up 24 percent from May 2011. Whole and mixed egg stocks were 10,277,000 lbs., up 6 percent from April and up 63 percent from May 2011. Unclassified egg stocks were 18,612,000 lbs., up 11 percent from April and up 1 percent from May 2011.
