Core Tip: The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) has released details of funding opportunities from the Sustainable Farming Fund (SFF) for projects starting in 2013.
The main body of the SFF will be open for applications from 20th August and close on the 26 October 2012 for projects up to NZ$200,000 (excl. GST) per annum for up to three years. Unlike last year, this will be a one phase application process.

Of note this year, with applications open for the month of August is a NZ$1 million co-funding opportunity for Maori agribusiness projects.

Colin Johnston, Aquaculture New Zealand (AQNZ) Technical Director, is happy to talk to anyone with ideas for SFF applications. Please remember that funding is provided for industry or sector wide projects. Ideally projects are for applied research, technology transfer or field trials.

In addition – if you have any ideas for priority research for the industry or your sector that AQNZ can pursue funding for through other avenues please do not hesitate to contact Colin directly either by email (colin@aqnz.org) or phone 03 546 2666 or 021 2444157.
