Core Tip: David Acheson, a partner at Leavitt Partners and former chief medical officer of the Food and Drug Administration, has joined the board of directors of SafetyChain Software.
SafetyChain Software is a provider of real time food safety chain management solutions that help companies manage regulatory, non-regulatory and customer-driven safety and quality compliance along their entire supply chains.

Dr. Acheson oversees Leavitt Partners’ food and import safety practice. Prior to joining Leavitt, he was chief medical officer at the F.D.A., associate commissioner for foods at the F.D.A., chief medical officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service and chief medical officer at the F.D.A. Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. He is also a frequent author and speaker in the food safety and quality assurance community.

“As the complexities and regulatory requirements along the global food supply chain continue to expand, so will the need for technology and software innovations that help keep food safe,” Dr. Acheson said. “I look forward to working with SafetyChain Software as a board adviser as they continue to provide innovative food safety and quality assurance solutions that help companies promote compliance at all points along the supply chain.”
