The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Miguel Arias Cañete, has announced that the government will launch a new call for aid, in order to extend for six months, until 14 December 2012, aid to the crews affected by the suspension of the fisheries agreement between the EU and Morocco.

According to the minister, the total amount calculated to address the financing of this aid amounts to €5,357,160. 

Mr Arias Cañete was speaking at a press conference, hosted by the Ministry after meeting with representatives of BDA to analyse the situation suffered by the livestock and dairy sector in particular, affected by rising prices production costs.
