The Israel’s antitrust authority has indicted several bakery chains for setting prices, preventing competition, and dividing the customer base among themselves, in violation of the Restrictive Trade Practices Law.

The bakeries that have been indicated include Angel, Berman's, Davidovich, and Ahdut, among others.

These bakeries have been accused of collaborating to prevent competition by dividing customer base among them. After overcoming the competition, the companies increased the regulated price of white bread and halla, blaming the rising costs of wheat globally.

The agency noted that alleged offenses were particularly serious as they had the potential to affect large number of people, including those in the low-income group.
