The Orchid Hotel, Mumbai, has decided to bring in the spirit of Christmas with its annual tradition of the Cake Mixing Ceremony on October 29, 2012.
According to a press release issued by the hotel, the traditional ceremony of cake mixing starts a few months before Christmas and is considered to be a harbinger for good fortune, joy and happiness.
This year, the Christmas preparations will start with the mixing of ingredients and soaking them for the Christmas cake. The mixing will be done in a festive atmosphere at The Gourmet Shop which is located at the lobby level of the Orchid Hotel in the presence of Harsha Devraj, GM, Orchid Hotel, departmental heads and others.
Devraj said, “Christmas seems incomplete without the traditional Christmas cake and we Orchidians continue this tradition with a lot of enthusiasm and fervour. The feeling of joy experienced at the ceremony with all the staff and guests participating in this tradition cannot be described in words. It is the perfect way to kickstart the festive season!”
