Under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has established a maximum residue limit (MRL) for trifloxystrobin in or on bananas to permit the import and sale of foods containing such residues.

The MRL was proposed in the consultation document published on 11 June 2012, Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2012-27, Trifloxystrobin. The PMRA received no comments in response to this consultation.

To comply with Canada's international trade obligations, consultation on the proposed MRL was also conducted internationally by notifying the World Trade Organization, as coordinated by the Standards Council of Canada. No comments were received as a result of the World Trade Organization consultation impacting the proposed MRLs.

The following MRL takes legal effect in Canada as of the publication date of this document and is in addition to the MRLs currently established for trifloxystrobin.
