Under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has approved the addition of a new use on greenhouse tomato transplants to the product label of Sumagic Plant Growth Regulator, containing technical grade uniconazole-P. The specific use approved in Canada is detailed on the label of Sumagic Plant Growth Regulator, Pest Control Products Act Registration Number 25781.

Residues of uniconazole-P, the S-enantiomer of the resolved (E)-isomer, are covered by MRLs established for uniconazole, the unresolved isomeric mixture which includes both the (E) and (Z)-isomers.

A corresponding maximum residue limit (MRL) was proposed in the consultation document published on 8 June 2012, Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2012-22, Uniconazole. The PMRA received no comments in response to this consultation.

To comply with Canada's international trade obligations, consultation on the proposed MRL was also conducted internationally by notifying the World Trade Organization, as coordinated by the Standards Council of Canada. No comments were received as a result of the World Trade Organization consultation.

The following MRL for uniconazole takes legal effect as of the publication date of this document.
