Wine.com, a California-based online wine retailer, has introduced Wine.com Marketplace that allows domestic and imported wines with limited distribution to reach to additional consumers in the US.

Established in 1998, the company has been using a three-tier distribution system that allows consumers to buy wine online with ease. However, with the new inclusion, wineries with limited distribution will also be able to sell their products to large number of potential customers.

Using Wine.com Marketplace, wineries will have immediate access to Wine.com consumers in 20 states and can avoid tasks like compliance, sales tax, warehousing, fulfillment, weather holds, order tracking, customer service and delivery, as they will be handled by Wine.com.

On the other hand, consumers can use the Wine.com Marketplace to get access to over ten thousand wines annually, can receive free shipping for an annual fee of $49 and receive consolidated delivery even after ordering from multiple wineries.

Wine.com CEO Rich Bergsund said over the past 14 years, they have developed relationships with thousands of wineries of all sizes, all around the world.

"Often, these wineries lack partners to help sell and distribute their vintages. While our core business will continue to buy from wholesalers, the new Wine.com Marketplace will also help other wineries or wines find happy customers," Bergsund added.
