The International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA) kicked off its search for cake decorators to compete in the 18th Annual Cake Decorating Challenge that will take place during the annual Dairy-Deli-Bake Seminar and Expo, June 2-4, 2013.
Judges are seeking participants who are skilled in production cakes, themed cakes and wedding cakes. The challenge will consist of creating production cakes to fill an 8-foot bakery case, creating a custom-design wedding cake and decorating three cakes of choice within each category—special occasion, themed and decorator's choice. Contestants will have the opportunity to showcase the talent, creativity and originality that sells cakes for their companies, while competing for first-, second- and third-place trophies.
IDDBA will cover transportation, lodging and meals, as well as provide needed tools and materials. The entry deadline is Feb. 14, 2013.
