Core Tip: Laser cut gingerbread houses assemble like jigsaw pvuzzles

Holidays don’t get any more competitive than they do with laser cut gingerbread houses.

Most gingerbread kits come wrapped neatly with all the necessary pieces and instructions but the assembling of the actual structure can prove to be quite difficult. Family members of Madison, Wisconsin’s Sector67 used a 150-watt laser cutter to fix this problem.

By first creating a production file on Corel Draw, they sliced pieces out of large baked gingerbread so that all the pieces can fit together like a jigsaw puzzle. This eliminates the drying process when using traditional icing since the pieces provide support for each other.

Though these laser cut gingerbread houses contain beautiful and intricate architecture and exterior designs, whether it is edible after the laser passed through is slightly questionable.
