Kendall-Jackson Vineyard Estates, a California-based vineyard and winery, has purchased 877 acres of vineyards at Pine Mountain-Cloverdale Peak American Viticultural Area (PMP AVA), US, from Seghesio family for an undisclosed amount.
Located 3,000ft above the Alexander Valley in the Mendocino County, California, the PMP appellation soils are rich in minerals and are exposed to micro-climates.
The transaction between the company and the Seghesio family was undertaken by Bergman Euro-National, a real estate brokerage firm that specializes in the sale of vineyards and vineyard estates.
Bergman Euro-National broker John Bergman told pressdemocrat.com that the appellation is not planted with any grapes but has over 280 acres of hilly site that can be planted with grapes.
"It's raw Mother Nature, except that the Seghesios had prepped to plant approximately 100 acres," Bergman said.
"And 60 acres of that has erosion control, and is set up for water. Most of the hard work has been done," Bergman added.
