The Jackson Family Wines, an American company known for its Kendall-Jackson brand, has signed an agreement to purchase a new estate in Willamette Valley, Oregon.

In March 2013, the company purchased three Willamette Valley vineyard properties to diversify the company's line-up of Pinot Noirs.

The company has agreed to buy Soléna Estate's 15,000 case winery located in the Yamhill-Carlton district. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The winery comprises an open-air fermentation hall, a tasting room, hospitality area and underground barrel cellars.

In addition to the winery, the deal includes acquisition of 14ha of vineyard surrounding the site.

Jackson Family Wines executive vice president and chief operating officer Hugh Reimers said in order to fulfill our vision for creating world-class Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley, we need a winery capable of producing artisan wines.

"The Soléna winery is beautifully designed for boutique, small-lot winemaking," Reimers added.

Following the completion of the deal, Soléna will transfer its production to its winemaking site in Dundee Hills.
