US-based Dari-Farms Ice Cream plans to reduce 76 workers by March 2013.
According to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice, the company will cut down the employment by 4 March 2013; however, it did not anticipate the suspension of the operations at the plant.
This move comes after the company lost a distribution contract with Nestles. The workers are being laid off work in the field and transportation departments, said the company.
The company is planning to employ the affected workers in the Nestles, reported the masslive.com.
Dari-Farms delivers products manufactured by Ben & Jerry's and Häagen-Dazs to various stores.
