Liquor Control Broad of Ontario (LCBO) is to launch two new store formats that will allow consumers to buy alcohol conveniently, protect social responsibility and help grow the wine industry in the region.
One among the new store formats is LCBO Express stores, which will be smaller in size and will allow LCBO to meet consumer demand for products like Ontario wine, spirits and beer, whereas, the LCBO VQA Destination Boutiques, a full-size LCBO store, will offer consumers an expanded range of Ontrario's VQA wines.
The large sized boutiques will carry rare wines from small wineries and will allow locals to know more about the VQA wines, reported ottawastart.com.
With an estimated value of $9.5bn in 2011-12 for Ontario's beverage alcohol market, the LCBO aims to increase that figure through its stores.
The new stores are expected to open over the next 12 to 18 months.
