Pinckney Bend Distillery, a Missouri-based spirits producer, has installed a new still bought from Artisan Still Designs in Ontario, Canada, to increase the production volumes.

The new custom-made hybrid pot still can hold up to 60gal of the spirit. In addition to producing enhanced volumes, the still also helps the distillery produce different kinds of spirits.

Pinckney Bend Distillery head distiller Tom Anderson told emissourian.com that the still can be operated both as a traditional pot still or as a modern column still.

"Whiskey and brandy, for example, have different distillation requirements than vodka and gin. With this new still we have the versatility to do whatever a particular product or flavor profile requires," he told the website.

Established in November 2011, the distillery produces Pinckney Bend American Gin and Pinckney Bend American Vodka. It has recently added an un-aged American Corn Whiskey to portfolio and plans to add brandy, Grappa and Eau de Vie to its product line.

The distillery also plans to open a tasting room at its facility in June 2013.
