Nestle USA is introducing a new concept into its Lean Cuisine product line with Salad Additions.
The frozen entrees are packaged in a steam pouch and available in four varieties. Lettuce not included.
“These entrees are the first of their kind in the frozen aisle,” said Mike Niethammer, director of marketing for Lean Cuisine. “The combination of mouth-watering chicken and vegetables, culinary-inspired dressings and crunchy toppings paired with your choice of fresh crisp lettuce makes for a truly modern dining experience.”
The Asian-style chicken salad features sesame ginger vinaigrette, edamame, pineapple, broccoli, yellow and orange carrots and crispy noodles.
The Southwest-style chicken salad includes chipotle ranch dressing, black beans, sweet corn, roasted red peppers and poblano peppers with crispy tortilla strips.
The cranberry and chicken salad has raspberry cabernet vinaigrette, dried cranberries, broccoli, red onions, yellow carrots and a whole grain blend with crunchy sesame sticks.
The bistro chicken salad includes sweet and tangy vinaigrette with bacon, asparagus, yellow carrots, red peppers and crispy onion straws.
Each contains between 240 and 280 calories with 9 grams of fat or less.
Lean Cuisine Salad Additions will be available in the frozen aisle of supermarkets nationwide this month.
