Luc Put has taken the reins as President of the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA), and identified several priorities -- first of them mapping the future of the group.
"Since 2010, when the partnership with GCCA was established and ECSLA became the number one association to represent the European temperature-controlled logistics industry, much effort has been put into establishing a stable organization. Now it is time to look ahead and set clear goals for the future," Put noted.
He also wants to focus on the needs of corporate members: "What are the major challenges for cold store operators in their day-to-day work and how can ECSLA assist? What additional kind of information, tools, resources, services, etc. would they like us to make available to them, that they feel would support them in their business activities."
Finally, Put emphasizes that membership development is a continuous effort. "The larger our membership base, the stronger our voice in Brussels and the better we can look after the interest of our members and the industry as a whole."
Put, who succeeded Hans can Leeuwen, is CEO of Colfridis Invest NV, a Belgian cold storage company with seven sites and a capacity of 920.000 cubic meters.
