New Zealand-based Tru-Test Group has acquired NDA Group's wholly-owned subsidiary Dairy Technology Services (DTS) for $73m, following the purchase of Radian Technologies (MilkHub) in December 2012.

DTS, a milk storage and refrigeration firm, employs 80 staff in its manufacturing facility in Taranaki, and administration and sales office in Hamilton.

Tru-Test Group CEO Greg Muir said that the deal is part of the company's plan to deliver improved levels of integrated support for dairy farmers.

"The dairy industry will increasingly need to integrate new technologies and services if it is to achieve the sustainable growth it seeks. Having both DTS and MilkHub within Tru-Test Group is an example of this sort of integration in practice," Muir added.

NDA CEO Mark Eglinton said, "We believe DTS is a natural fit for Tru-Test and the sale gives NDA greater capacity to deliver our growth strategies for our core engineering business in New Zealand, Australia and North America"

Tru-Test Group is a producer of milk metering, electric fencing and EID and weighing-based animal management systems.
