Highland Park, an Orkney Island-based Scotch whiskey distillery, has introduced a new limited edition single malt Scotch whiskey - Loki - under the Valhalla Collection.
The Valhalla Collection is a set of four unique whiskies started with Thor. Loki follows Thor as the second release from the collection.
The 15yo Scotch whiskey is matured in both Spanish sherry casks and peated casks. The light colored blend possesses smell of dried bitter orange and lemon peels with cardamom notes.
On the palate, the blend starts with smoky punch, followed by licorice and spiced apple flavors, and notes of lemon and grapefruit. The expression ends with toasted cloves, hickory smoke and soft vanilla finish.
Highland Park global marketing manager Gerry Tosh said, "Loki will continue to take Highland Park and The Valhalla Collection into new territory."
The 48.7% ABV Highland Park Loki is housed in a wooden frame and is available for sale at Highland Park distillery and website, and at select whiskey retailers at suggested retail price of $249 per bottle.
