Cookie manufacturer Leclerc Foods, which is based in Quebec City, Quebec, is expanding its Kingsport plant to add production for granola bars and baked bars.

The $15.7 million project is expected to create 40 jobs. The plant, which has been in operation since 2008, currently manufactures granola bars, crackers and cookies.

“Since 2008, we have had a very positive experience with our development in the Northeast Tennessee area,” said Francois Gingras, director of engineering. “The quality of the local suppliers, the skilled workforce and the good collaboration of all the local authorities has really created a good business environment for us.”
