Canadian food manufacturer Leclerc Foods plans to invest $15.7m to expand its facility in Kingsport, Tennessee, a move which is expected to create 40 new jobs.
The investment will be used to expand one of the facility's existing lines and add one new production line for the production of granola bars and baked bars.
The Kingsport facility, which has been in operation since 2008, currently produces granola bars, crackers and cookies. In addition to the Kingsport plant, Leclerc Foods has four facilities in the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario and in the state of Pennsylvania.
Leclerc Foods, established in 1905, produces cookies, snack bars and crackers. Its brands include Praeventia, Celebration, Quattro and Chocomax, and its products are available in more than 20 countries around the world.
