Cold Stone Creamery, a US-based subsidiary of Kahala, is set to open stores in the Philippines and Bangladesh, as part of strategy to expand its presence throughout Asia.
Under the strategy, Kahala has signed 10-year master franchise agreements with Olive Tree Foods in Bangladesh and with Arizona Ice Cream in the Philippines.
Olive Tree Foods will unveil its first Cold Stone Creamery store in 2013 with the goal of opening a total of four stores within the next four years.
Arizona Ice Cream, a subsidiary of Trimark Holdings, will open 15 stores in Philippines over the next five years, with the first location to open in mid-2013.
The current Cold Stone Creamery store expansion program will increase its presence to 22 countries
The company currently operates in more than 420 international locations across 20 different countries, including China, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, Nigeria, Egypt and the UAE.
