Frutarom Savory Solutions is set to shut down its Loxstedt-Nesse spice refining facility in Germany and expand other nearby production sites, as part of its efforts to ensure long-term capacity and quality.
The company stated that as the Loxstedt-Nesse facility is located adjacent to an area of domestic housing, it has not been possible to expand it. Therefore, the company has decided to invest in its facility in Sittensen and in its R&D center in Holdorf. The company also plans to optimize its production site at Bramstead.
Construction work at Sittensen and Bramsted is expected to begin later this year.
Frutarom Savory Solutions commercial vice president Nick Russell said the investment in Sittensen will allow the company to create one of the most efficient spice refining facilities in Europe - on a par with Frutarom's facility in Korntal-Münchingen.
In addition, it will invest in sales and research and development center which will ensure that the company remains future-oriented and provide its customers with tailored solutions as per the requirement, Russell added.
Frutarom Savory Solutions combines the expertise of Gewürzmüller, GewürzMühle Nesse and Frutarom to develop and produce customized solutions for the meat, fish, and convenience industries. The company's product range includes functional ingredients, starter cultures, spices and seasonings, as well as ready to cook and ready to eat components.
