The J. M. Smucker Company, an American manufacturer of fruit spreads, has signed an agreement to acquire Sahale Snacks, for an undisclosed amount.
Headquartered in Washington, Sahale manufactures and markets nut and fruit snacks, which are primarily sold in the US under the Sahale Snacks brand.
Sahale is anticipated to generate around $50m in net sales for the current year.
The proposed acquisition includes a leased facility in Seattle, Washington, and will add approximately 150 employees to the company.
J. M. Smucker US Retail Consumer Foods president Paul Smucker Wagstaff said: "The addition of the Sahale Snacks premium lifestyle brand, and its portfolio of innovative and on-trend products, provides an established platform for growth in the snacking space."
Smucker markets and manufactures fruit spreads, retail packaged coffee, peanut butter, shortening and oils, ice cream toppings, sweetened condensed milk, and natural foods products in North America.
