UK-based Exquisite Handmade Cakes has introduced a range of reduced fat cakes in three flavors: Chocolate Cake, Victoria Sponge, and Lemon Drizzle.
The company noted that the cakes are ideal for coffee and tea shops, pubs and catering outlets who wish to offer a luxurious yet 'lower fat' option to their customers, especially over the British summertime.
While each cake has the same taste as Exquisite's originals, both the icing and the sponge are reduced fat versions of those in Exquisite's standard range of cakes and baked goods. Each cake contains 40% less fat and also contains 50% less saturated fat.
Chocolate Cake is a dense, moist and rich chocolate sponge cake; Victoria Sponge is a light and fluffy vanilla sponge; and Lemon Drizzle is a light and zesty lemon infused sponge.
According to the company, the range has been specifically designed for caterers requiring the highest quality, beautifully presented and cleverly innovated cakes for their clientele.
Exquisite Handmade Cakes founder Viv Parry said that each cake has the luxurious flavour and high quality that can be expected from an Exquisite cake.
"However, we have re-crafted both our icings and sponges to be 'reduced fat' versions of those in our original range. We hope that they will allow our customers' clientele to enjoy an indulgent summer - in a lighter way,"
As with all Exquisite Handmade Cakes, each cake is available in pre-portioned or uncut, ambient or frozen formats. When cut, each cake serves approximately 14 portions.
