Grupo Herdez, a Mexican producer of shelf-stable foods, has completed the acquisition of Nutrisa, a frozen yogurt and food supplement chain, for $246.84m.
Founded in 1979, Nutrisa is a major retail chain in the field of natural food. It offers frozen yogurt, natural foods, food supplements, food and beverages, accessories and personal care products of natural origin.
The company earlier noted that it would pay MXN91 ($7.52) a share to purchase 67% of Nutrisa, which will make an offer for the remaining third of the company.
Grupo Herdez offers a range of categories, including tuna, burritos, ketchup, coffee, spices, guacamole, mayonnaise, jam, honey, mini tacos, mole, mustard, pasta, tomato puree, homemade sauces, tea, canned vegetables and organic foods, among others.
The company sells its products principally under the Aires de Campo, Barilla, Chi-Chi's, Del Fuerte, Don Miguel, Dona Maria, Embasa, Herdez, La Victoria, McCormick, Wholly Guacamole and Yemina.
