UK-Fatherson Bakerybased Fatherson Bakery has installed a new printer and labeling system from SATO UK, as part of its efforts to streamline its labeling processes and improve operating efficiencies.

According to SATO, the bakery manufacturer was seeking to increase its productiveness and identified printing and labeling as a key area.

Products supplied by Fatherson Bakery require display of three types of labels including product labels, tray end labels that show the content of a smaller delivery unit, and drop or delivery labels.

To serve this purpose, SATO recommended its CL printer together with its LabelGallery Truepro software, which is claimed to offer process automation benefits to companies, reduce time and labor factors as well as business cost.

LabelGallery can interface with the Sage Business Software operated by Fatherson Bakery, which allows automation of a number of processes. It waits for the production run file which is output by the Sage system.

The label print data is obtained and the label run is instigated on the SATO's CL thermal barcode printer, which features an operator screen that allows the user to select and enter additional label information if required.

Additional features enable the labeling process to interface with company production or ERP systems to accumulate the necessary print data automatically and trigger label production

SATO UK managing director Neil Batchelor said the solution helped to increase the efficiency of Fatherson Bakery's processes and productivity and also helped to improve its traceability management.

"LabelGallery not only produces clear barcoded labels which achieve all standards, but also enhances business efficiency," Batchelor said.

SATO is a leading provider of barcode printing, labeling and EPC/RFID solutions for the food industry, for support in implementing a new system.
