Campbell Soup Company announced a new line of Prego Alfredo sauces will debut this month.
“Our Alfredo sauces are a natural next step for a brand that has been providing Americans with delicious Italian sauces for more than 30 years,” said Dale Clemiss, Vice President of Simple Meals at Campbell Soup Company, manufacturer of Prego. “We know shoppers have a choice in the pasta sauce aisle, and we’re confident that our Alfredo sauces will inspire them to discover something new with the promise of great taste, rich flavors and distinctive ingredients."
The three new Alfredo sauces complement the already popular line of Prego Italian sauces. The new varieties include:
Prego Homestyle Alfredo features garlic, cream and parmesan sauce.
Prego Flavored With Savory Bacon combines the flavors of real bacon with hints of cracked black pepper.
Prego Artisan Three Cheese blends white cheddar, parmesan and romano cheeses.
“There are so many ways to enjoy Prego Alfredo sauces -- pair any of the delicious varieties with your favorite pasta for a quick and satisfying meal for your family,” said Sheila Miller, a project manager in Campbell’s Consumer Test Kitchen. “Or, for a new twist on classic favorites, try using the sauces as an ingredient in your favorite lasagna, casserole or baked chicken recipe.”
Prego Alfredo sauces are available at Wal-Mart and Target stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.59. National distribution is expected by October 2013.
