CytoSport, parent company of Muscle Milk, will donate $8,200 to Kershaw’s Challenge, a nonprofit organization founded by Cy Young winner and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Muscle Milk committed $100 for every strikeout he threw from Opening Day until the end of May, and the ace notched 82 strikeouts during that time.

“I’m so grateful to have a partner like Muscle Milk who supports my goals and passions both on and off the field,” said Kershaw. “The financial resources they provide as part of our partnership will go a long way toward helping others in our communities and around the world.”

Motivated by his desire to use the platform of baseball to make a difference in the lives of others, Kershaw himself is donating $500 per strikeout throughout the entire 2013 season as part of his #PITCHING4PURPOSE social media campaign. Kershaw’s Challenge strives to assist at-risk children and provides valuable resources for underserved communities in Zambia, Los Angeles and Dallas. Individuals who also want to contribute can go to his website, www.kershawschallenge.com, and make their own pledge.
