Canadian convenience store Couche-Tard, which is famous for bringing customers Roast Beef- and Swamp-flavored slushies, is at it again. This time, the chain is celebrating Italian cuisine — pizza and spaghetti — in a slushy flavor they call Pizzaghetti Slouche.
Before you say "ooohhh," "gross," or "yum," know that the Pizzaghetti is just a marketing ploy. The slushy doesn't actually taste like pizza or spaghetti. According to the Huffington Post, instead these icy drinks resemble fruit flavors — the spaghetti a dead ringer for kiwi and the pizza beverage tastes just like strawberry.
Making even more headlines than the controversial flavor is the accompanying ad campaign, which features a spaghetti-woman making out with a slice of pizza in a park and then the two cuddling on the couch watching television together.
Would you want to take a sip of the Pizzaghetti Slouche if it actually tasted like pizza and pasta? Do you think it's disingenuous for the chain to call the slushy something it doesn't actually taste like?
