Champagne is known for being a little pricey, but one company has taken the price to a whole to level by producing a single bottle worth a whopping $1.8 million. As it turns out, it's the bottle itself that drove up the price, not the bubbly inside.
According to the New York Daily News, luxury champagne maker Gout de Diamants has created a very special bottle for an anonymous client. The bottle was crafted from solid 18-carat gold and features a deep-cut white diamond of 19 carats. Diamants bottles have a logo that typically holds a Swarovski crystal, but in this case a real diamond was adhered to the bottle.
Even the label is made out of gold. It was constructed with 18-carat solid white gold and bears the unnamed client's name. Designer Alexander Amosu, known for making everyday items into something extremely expensive, was hired for the project.
Now Gout de Diamants is claiming the bottle is the most expensive in the world. There's no word on whether the anonymous client plans to pop his lavish bottle of bubbly, but if it is opened, the buyer will find a mix of Grand Cru Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. The blend supposedly has a "floral, refreshing, and creamy texture and ends with a light and elegant finish."
Do you think it's crazy to spend $1.8 million on champagne? What would you do with a solid gold bottle?
