GreenLane Estate Winery, a Canada-based wine maker, has opened its new winemaking facility at 3751 King Street in Vineland, Canada to increase its production capacity from 2,800 cases to 3,000 cases by the next vintage.

Built at the former site of Wayne Gretzky's winery, the new winery features a retail boutique, tasting lounge and an outdoor patio.

The production facility is expected to be completed soon and will begin production from August 2013. In few years time, the company aims to produce 10,000 cases of wines annually.

GreenLane Estate Winery general manager and head winemaker Dianne Smith and her winemaking team will plant new Chardonnay vines in spring 2014. The new winery will use grapes from both its current GreenLane vineyard and its new King Street vineyard.

To celebrate the opening of the new location, the winery will host a grand opening celebration at Vineland on 13 July 2013 with guided tours of the new facility, educational tours, a special release of GreenLane Reserve wines, live music and other activities for wine lovers, families and kids.

Smith said they are thrilled to finally open their new doors to the public and what better way to do so then to host a big party for the public to enjoy.

"We have something for everyone so if you're travelling the Niagara wine route on July 13, stop by and say hello, try some of our delicious wines and enjoy our hospitality," Smith added.
