7-Eleven Japan Co. opened a 24-hour convenience store at Terminal 2 of Narita International Airport on Wednesday, the first around-the-clock convenience store at the airport.

The major convenience store chain hopes the outlet will attract passengers of early morning flights of low-cost carriers that began services last year. At the airport, takeoffs and landings are prohibited in principle between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. to curb noise pollution.

The outlet, located on the fourth floor of the Terminal 2 building, is larger than average convenience stores. Many LCCs have passenger facilities at Terminal 2.
