Starbucks, an American global coffee company, has collaborated with department store company Galeries Lafayette to expand the coffee brand in France.
Under the partnership, Lafayette will initially open two Starbucks outlets in two Paris department stores by the end of summer 2013.
The first proposed outlet will be located at the famous Paris flagship Haussmann department store in the 9th district, while the second store is planned at 81 rue de Provence.
Both the companies are keen to extend their partnership with the launch of additional stores over the next few years across the country.
Starbucks EMEA business development and channel operations SVP Doug Satzman said that the collaboration with Lafayette forms a part of company's plan to form alliances with leading retailers to expand in Europe.
Galeries Lafayette group Grands Magasins brand food and restaurant director Philippe Thomas said: "We look forward to the future development of Starbucks presence in our department stores across France, bringing a well-recognised and popular brand to our range of cafes and restaurants."
Visitors to Starbucks stores developed for Galeries Lafayette will be able to enjoy coffee, ethically sourced, made and served by expert baristas, besides Starbucks popular pastries and sandwiches range.
