Bangs, an India-based domestic fried chicken quick service restaurant (QSR) chain, is gearing up to open 500 outlets in the country over the next five years.
The store openings are part of the brand'ss strategy to expand its retail footprint across the country.
Out of the proposed 500 outlets, nearly 100 will be company-owned, while the remaining 400 are expected to be opened through franchise-model.
To set up company-owned restaurants, the chain intends to raise INR200m ($3.36m), The Hindu Business Line reported.
Bangs, which has recently opened a store in Chennai, targets to have around 70 outlets by 2013 and 180-200 by the end of 2014.
Apart from domestic expansion, the chain plans to open its first overseas outlet in Doha, Qatar, with initial target to focus the Middle East only.
Bangs currently operates more than 40 outlets, including franchise outlets across India.
