The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) has announced 10 more companies have achieved Responsible Fisheries Management (RFM) certification.
The FAO-based RFM chain of custody certification allows the companies to market their products as sustainable. ASMI and the Alaska seafood industry have promoted the RFM program as an alternative to the Marine Stewardship Council certification.
The companies — Pacific Live; Intersea Fisheries West; Rocky Pass Seafoods; North Beach Sales; Pacific Ocean Foods; Nomura Trading Co.; Quality Seafood Services; North Star Cold Storage; Alaska Glacier Seafoods and Trident Seafoods Corp. — join a list of more than 40 companies that received the certification to date.
