DSC Logistics, Des Plaines, Ill., expanded their U.S. network with the construction of a state-of-the-art food and consumer packaged goods retail consolidation logistics center in the new logistics park in Moreno Valley, Calif. Kraft Foods Group, Northfield, Ill., will be the first customer in the building, scheduled for a late 2013 opening.
With leading-edge security, food safety, C-TPAT and system capabilities, DSC’s newest logistics center will provide Kraft and other customers with warehousing, value-added services and transportation to retailers. Customers will be able to take advantage of opportunistic consolidation opportunities and other established DSC consolidation programs such as the Multi-Vendor Optimization Strategy (MOST) developed for Wal-Mart.
"With a dynamic, forward-thinking company such as Kraft, we are excited by the opportunity to use our operational abilities and intellectual capital to help them reach their business goals," says Ann Drake, chief executive officer for DSC Logistics. "We make it our business to understand and proactively manage specific supply chain challenges, as well as overall enterprise goals such as reducing costs, improving service to customers, transforming business processes and facilitating growth and change."
