Animal nutrition and fish feed firm Nutreco is expanding its operations in Ukraine through a new joint venture with a partner organization there, the company said in a release.
Nutreco has operated a sales office in Ukraine since 2006, and starting in 2011 operated a feed specialties plant owned by partner company Dutch Feed. The new venture will allow Nutreco to use Dutch Feed’s extensive sales and distribution network in Ukraine to sell and distribute Nutreco products.
Through the venture, Nutreco will take a 1/3 share of Dutch Feed.
According to Nureco, Ukraine’s animal feed market is second in size only to Russia, and the market is expected to grow by 5-10 percent per year.
