Tesco is offering shoppers the chance to have their face on a pack of spuds with a new initiative across its Fresh & Easy-branded Parmentier Potatoes.
Developed with potato supplier Branston, the packs invite shoppers to upload a photo of themselves, their family or friends enjoying the potatoes, onto a dedicated website.
The best photos will be selected for an online gallery and will be printed on packs of the prepared potatoes, which will be sold at stores nationwide.
Tesco hoped the initiative would help increase sales of prepared potatoes, said Unali Patel, prepared vegetable buyer at Tesco. “This is a great opportunity to draw in customers of all ages, but especially the younger generation.”
Pic on a Pack will initially only run across the one Tesco prepared potato line but plans are afoot to roll it out to other prepared potato lines in future.
